Forestry Program/Education and Information

The GATEWAY to Natural Resource Management

We provide adult and youth education programs and opportunities.  The vast majority of forestland in Michigan is privately owned.  Our goal is to give these landowners the tools necessary to make the best management decisions on their land through education.

 

 Assistance is provided through:

Site visits with residents, community groups and units of government.

·          Presentations to classrooms and adult groups.

·          Earth Day and Arbor Day programs.

·          Workshops.

·          Master Woodland Manager Volunteer program.

·          Forestry Education Workshop for teachers.

·          Informational handouts and telephone consultations.

·          Partnerships with other natural resource organizations.

·          Newsletters and news articles.
