~For the Land, For the Water, For the Future~
Great Lakes Commission Project
Project Description
Starting in 2019, The Macatawa Area Coordinating Council, Project Clarity, and the Outdoor Discovery center set a goal to support producers in planting cover crops and installing grassed waterways in Allegan and Ottawa counties. They have since recruited Allegan Conservation District and Ottawa Conservation District to install 3900 feet of grassed waterways and 4,400 acres of cover crops. Fields in the Peters Creek, South Branch, Upper Macatawa, and Noordeloos Creek Watersheds may be eligible for participation.
