Volunteer to remove Autumn Olive invasive species at Littlejohn Park in Allegan on Sept 3rd at 10am.

Volunteer with the Allegan Conservation District for the opportunity to help remove autumn olive, an invasive shrub threatening our local ecosystems. During this program, you’ll learn to identify autumn olive, understand why it is harmful to native habitats, and discover how it spreads aggressively to outcompete native plants and reduce biodiversity. You’ll receive training on how to properly remove or manage autumn olive to help restore healthy natural areas. No experience is necessary – just bring your enthusiasm and be ready to make a meaningful impact outdoors!

We recommend bringing a water bottle and wearing clothes that can get dirty. All other materials will be provided.

For ages 12 and up.

Guardians stay with the group.

This class will be instructed by artist Paulette Carr the owner of Brave Art Studios & Gallery. You will be painting a floral still life of native Michigan flowers while enjoying a dirty soda bar! All supplies will be provided but please bring a cardboard box to take your wet piece of art home with you.

*Only participants will be permitted into the workshop. Kids 12 and older allowed to participate in the class (full price).
